DDTKI, through Andres P. Tamayo Sr. Foundation Inc. (APTSFI), continues to reach out to the communities with its outreach programs and activities:
HANDOG GAMIT. At least 583 elementary pupils benefited from this event as the company distributed school supplies to different partner schools of Cagayan, Puerto Princesa and Cavite from June 20-25, 2016.
SAGIP-MALNUTRISYON. To sustain the Sagip Malnutrisyon Program (SMP), which provides nutritious food to malnourished children, APTSFI in partnership with San Nicolas Parish has organized a community in Barangay Napsan, Puerto Princesa, Palawan, which formed the NAPSAN ORGANIC FARMERS’ ASSOCIATION (NOFA). NOFA is a group of approximately 50 women from SMP parents and were all trained on Natural Farming Made Easy with Effective Microorganism (EM) Technology.
San Nicolas Parish through the initiative of their priest, Father Edmond Herher offered their 1,000 square meter vacant lot to implement the NAPSAN Biofarm Program, a sustainable food security program catering to small farmers. Currently, cleaning and soil preparation is being undertaken. Meanwhile, APTSFI is coordinating with Labtay Elementary School to activate their school gardening for potential source of nutritious meals for their children.
LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION. Life Skills Education aims to provide APTSFI scholars with skills and knowledge in developing an adaptive and positive behavior that will enable them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. It also aims to deepen the understanding of scholars on the youth’s role and contribution in the society. Recent participants to the program were as follows:
